Thomas Frank praised Brentford's determination following their 1-0 victory over West Ham. Kevin Schade's early goal secured the win, marking Brentford's third consecutive Premier League away triumph. Despite missing chances to extend their lead, including two disallowed goals and a shot hitting the post, Brentford showcased strong defensive skills in the second half to maintain their advantage.
Frank expressed satisfaction with his team's performance, particularly in the first half. "I am very happy, especially with the first half," he stated. Brentford controlled the game during this period but regretted not capitalising on more opportunities. Frank noted that they could have been three goals ahead, given their numerous chances and disallowed goals.

In the second half, Brentford maintained control despite West Ham's efforts. Frank commended his team's solid defensive display, saying it was a "very, very good" performance. He acknowledged that playing away against a strong opponent can be challenging but felt the victory was deserved.
Frank also highlighted Schade's contributions, as he has scored in each of Brentford's recent away wins. Schade is growing into his role and consistently performing well in both matches and training sessions. Yoane Wissa echoed these sentiments, praising Schade's speed and goal-scoring ability.
Wissa remarked on Schade's development, stating that although the first year is tough for any player, Schade has adapted well and is now thriving. Wissa believes aiming high is essential as Schade continues to excel.
Meanwhile, West Ham suffered their third defeat in four games and have yet to win any of the 14 Premier League matches this season when conceding first. Graham Potter lamented his team's first-half performance but appreciated their improved effort after halftime.
"The first half was not the performance we want at all," Potter said. He acknowledged that conceding early affected their play significantly and emphasised learning from this experience. However, he was pleased with how his players responded in the second half.
Potter noted that substitutes Evan Ferguson, James Ward-Prowse, and Ollie Scarles positively impacted the game by altering its dynamics. He sees potential in Ferguson's contributions to the team moving forward.
The match highlighted areas for improvement for West Ham while showcasing Brentford's resilience and growth under Frank's leadership. Both teams will look to build on these experiences as they continue their Premier League campaigns.
