Frank Lampard and Michael Ballack set for Chelsea ambassador roles

Bengaluru, December 10: Former Chelsea stars Frank Lampard and Michael Ballack are set to return to the club in ambassador roles after they are finished with their existing off-field media involvements, according to reports.

The midfielders were cult figure among the Blues fans and in their early days, they contributed a lot to make the English Premier League side one of the biggest European clubs.

Now as per reports both of them are set to return to the Chelsea fold after they met with club director Marina Granovskaia.

The pair maintain a close relationship with owner Roman Abramovich and according to sources, the Russian billionaire has insisted the Director Marina Granovskaia, to tie the players down with the club with an ambassador role.

They have reportedly met with the club officials over the possibility of accepting the offer however it is understood that, the English and German player are currently busy in commitments with their respective league's football media houses.

Lampard joined the Blues from West Ham United as a youngster and spent 13 highly successful seasons at the club where he became their record goalscorer and won three Premier League titles and one Champions and Europa league.

The attacking midfielder recently has spent time at Chelsea’s training ground as part of his studies towards his coaching qualifications however he is not been viewed as Antonio Conte’s coaching team.

Ballack, on the other hand, spent four years at Chelsea and won one league titles and three FA Cups.
