Bengaluru, March 1: England and Chelsea legend Frank Lampard says he will start considering offers about moving into management this summer.
Lampard has spent a season working as broadcaster after hanging up his boots at the end of his professional career last year.
But the Chelsea legend has revealed he is only weeks away from receiving his A licence allowing him to take the first steps on his managerial career.
And Lampard says he will happily listen to any approaches that come his way about taking charge of a club before the start of next season.
He told the Standard: "My A Licence will be finished in the spring, in the next few months or so. That gives me the opportunity to work.
"The Pro Licence will start in the summer — that is what you need to manage in the Champions League and will take a year.
“I could get a job before that but I wouldn’t be able to take charge of a club in European competition.
"If the right opportunity comes up then I’ll take a view on it.”
As Lampard is yet to begin work on his Uefa Pro Licence, that would rule him out of the running to take over as Chelsea boss if they qualify for the Champions League next season.
He has admitted in the past that he would like to manage at Stamford Bridge in his career, but is likely to start his managerial career elsewhere.
Last summer he was approached by Oxford to see if he would be interested in starting his managerial career there.
He added: “I had conversations with Dave Jones, who is on the board at Oxford, in the summer about the role and it went as far as that.
"They were just conversations but there is no truth in the current link.”
Lampard has been helped with his work on his Pro licence by linking up with Chelsea academy boss Jody Morris to work with the club's youth team.
During his time studying he has also made a big impression with his insight as studio expert with BT Sport.
