Ambitious PSG on a signing spree?

LONDON, August 3: Paris Saint-Germain's Qatari owner Nasser Al Khelaifi admitted that the French giants were very much active in the transfer market with their main aim being signing big players to earn silverware and boost the profile of the the club.

PSG is close to signing Barcelona star Neymar. Eventhough Nasser avoided a direct querry, in an interview with Moroccan broadcaster Medi1 TV, he was candid while admitting that the club had big ambitions.

"Neymar is a world star. Bringing in a star is not only a question of name or reputation, but also the style of play. PSG have the ambition to have great players who're recognised around the world, to increase the reputation of the club and give the players and the coach the level to which we aspire," said Nasser.

Meanwhile, French President Emmanuel Macaron congratulated Nasser on the possible arrival of Neymar.

"Congratulations. I understand, we're waiting for good news," Macaron told Nasser at a private function in Paris.
