In January 2023, Cristiano Ronaldo made a groundbreaking decision by joining Al-Nassr becoming the highest-paid footballer on the planet. In his current contract, he earns around $200 million per year, and coupled with other endorsement deals with Nike, Herbalife, DAZN, Clear Shampoo, MTG, Altice Portugal, and American Tourister etc he achieved approx $260 million in 2023, making him the highest paid footballer in the world.

2. Lionel Messi ($135 million)

His biggest rival Lionel Messi is also not far behind him in terms of monetary benefit thanks to his move to Inter Miami in the US. His on-field earnings hover around $65 million while off the field, his estimated earnings reach approximately $70 million. He is the second-highest-paid footballer in 2023.

3. Neymar Jr. ($112 million)

The 31-year-old is the latest in a long line of big names to quit Europe for the riches. Neymar currently earns around $32 million offer in Saudi Arabia by joining Al Hilal's off-field commitments on top of his on-field income which amounts to a further $80 million.

4. Kylian Mbappe ($110 million)

The huge contract that Paris Saint-Germain handed to Kylian Mbappe earlier is still active and it has made him the costliest player in Europe and the highest-paid footballer in the world. His on-field earnings amount to $90 million.

5. Karim Benzema ($106 million)

The former Real Madrid striker opted for a new adventure last summer leaving Europe for the Middle East club. The big reason behind the decision is likely to be a good salary which is the fifth highest in the world.
