Fulham have extended Tom Cairney's contract by one year, ensuring his presence at Craven Cottage for an 11th season. Cairney joined from Blackburn Rovers in 2015 and has been pivotal in Fulham's three promotions to the Premier League. His contributions include winning the Championship title in 2021-22 and scoring in the 2018 play-off final against Aston Villa.
Cairney has played 354 matches for Fulham across all competitions, more than any other player since 2000. He has scored 47 goals, second only to Aleksandar Mitrovic's 111. Additionally, Cairney leads with 35 assists, surpassing Steed Malbranque by one.

Cairney expressed his joy about the extension: "I'm happy to sign for another year at this amazing football club, I'm delighted. It feels brilliant. It feels right. It's always been home. I've fully enjoyed the last three years in the Premier League, contributing on and off the pitch, and I just want to help take this club as far as I can. I'll always try and do that."
Last season, Cairney made 29 appearances but started only six times, scoring twice without providing any assists. Andreas Pereira, Sander Berge, and Sasa Lukic were Marco Silva’s preferred midfielders during that period.
Cairney remains committed to contributing both on and off the field as he continues his journey with Fulham. His leadership and experience are expected to be invaluable assets for the team moving forward.
