Alvaro Morata, the Spanish national team's captain, has moved to Galatasaray on a 12-month loan from AC Milan. The agreement includes an option for Galatasaray to purchase him for 8 million. Milan will receive a 6 million loan fee. This deal is set to last until January 2026, when Galatasaray can decide on making the transfer permanent.
Galatasaray confirmed that Morata will earn a guaranteed salary of 3 million for the latter half of the 2024-25 season and another 3 million for the first half of 2025-26. The Turkish club must notify Milan by January 15, 2026, if they wish to make his stay permanent. If they opt not to buy him by then, they can extend the loan until June 30, 2026, with an option to purchase at a higher price.

Morata joined Milan from Atletico Madrid last year for a fee of 13 million. He signed a four-year contract with the Italian club. During this season, he started in 13 out of Milan's 22 league matches, scoring five goals from opportunities worth an expected goals (xG) value of 3.87 in Serie A.
Only Tijjani Reijnders and Christian Pulisic have scored more than Morata for Milan this season, with seven and six goals respectively. Under Sergio Conceicao's management at Milan, Morata started in seven of the first eight games but was absent during their recent draw against Inter.
Morata aims to bolster Galatasaray's efforts in securing the Turkish Super Lig title. Okan Buruk's team currently leads Jose Mourinho's Fenerbahce by three points and has a game in hand.
Morata began his professional journey with Real Madrid and has played for Juventus and Chelsea as well. His achievements include winning the Champions League twice with Madrid and claiming two LaLiga titles along with two Copa del Rey trophies. Additionally, he secured two Serie A championships during his time at Juventus.
This move presents an opportunity for Morata to make a significant impact in Turkey while potentially securing a long-term future with Galatasaray if both parties agree on terms before the deadline.
