Bengaluru, September: AFC Cup runners-up Bengaluru FC have added more Spanish flavour to their ranks by roping in Real Zaragoza winger Eduardo 'Edu' Garcia.
The 27-year-old, who has reportedly inked a one-year deal with the Blues becomes the club's fifth acquisition as they look to make a good start to their debut in the Indian Super League (ISL) this season.
"I'm very excited to join the club. From the beginning, I liked the idea of playing for Bengaluru's team in the ISL," Garcia was quoted as saying in the BFC website.
"Football in India is growing a lot and it's an important challenge for me. I hope I can help the club to reach its objectives for the season," added Garcia, who made 27 appearances for Zaragoza, who were playing in the La Liga second division last season.
BFC announced his arrival on their social media platforms.
BFC coach Albert Roca also welcomed Garcia on board.
He is an exciting young winger," Roca told BFC website.
"His versatility down the flank will provide us with great options in terms of personnel as well as our game plan. He will be a great addition to our squad and fits in well with our philosophy."
The next major outing for BFC is the return leg of AFC Cup inter-zonal semifinal against North Korean club 4.25 SC at Pyongyang on September13. The Blues hold the advantage after having a handy 3-0 lead from the opening leg held at Sree Kanteerava Stadium on August 23.
