Gareth Bale wants to end career at Real Madrid, says agent

Bale's agent, Jonathan Barnett, has now dismissed all these bits of gossip and claimed that the player is happy at Spanish capital and dreams to retire at the Bernabeu.

Madrid, November 28: Gareth Bale's agent has rubbished all rumours linking his client to a probable return to the Premier League and suggested the star attacker wants to end his career at Real Madrid.

The Wales international has been battling with injuries over the last two years and has only played nine matches, not playing for his club since the Champions League victory over Borussia Dortmund since the late of September.

The 27-year-old also faced a frustrating season last term after suffering numerous injuries throughout the campaign and often found himself behind Isco, Vazquez and Asensio in the pecking order under Zidane. It was rumoured in the Summer that the Wales player could move away from the Club.

Many reports in Spain suggested that the defending UCL winners are fed up with their star players injury record and are now ready to get rid the 28-year-old in the upcoming Summer, with Manchester United as a potential suitor.

However, Bale's agent, Jonathan Barnett, has now dismissed all these bits of gossip and claimed that the player is happy at Spanish capital and dreams to retire at the Bernabeu.

"He wants to play the rest of his life at Real Madrid," Barnett told Fichajes.

"He loves Madrid, the city, life and he loves the club. Of course it hurts him when the people don't support him and they do with other players who aren't so good.

"It's crazy, this happens only in Spain and I don't understand it, fans should understand this and know how good he is."

Barnett also blasted sections of the Spanish press for writing rubbish about his player as he contended those journalists should go back to school again to learn.

"I think that those who write these stories should go back to school and learn what journalism should be like, it's not inventing stories, I do not want to get angry because I read invented stories," he said.

"Some journalists in Spain write trash, they aren't based on football reasons and this is a mistake, they don't take the time to analyse what he has done. The fans should adore him."

Bale will make his return to Real Madrid's lineup in a Copa del Rey match this midweek against third-division club Fuenlabrada at the Santiago Bernabeu Stadium in the second leg tie after Zidane said Monday that the Wales forward has recovered from a leg muscle injury.

Madrid won the first leg 2-0 and it is expected that Zidane could field a second-string squad in this game to give rest to players like Ronaldo, Ramos, Benzema etc.
