Manchester United manager Ruben Amorim has confirmed Alejandro Garnacho's future at the club, despite transfer rumours. The 20-year-old Argentine winger is reportedly attracting interest from Napoli, who are seeking a replacement for Khvicha Kvaratskhelia as he moves to Paris Saint-Germain. Garnacho has netted three goals in 19 Premier League appearances this season but hasn't started in United's last five league matches.
Garnacho recently returned to the starting line-up during Manchester United's FA Cup third-round match against Arsenal. The game ended in a 1-1 draw after extra time, with United eventually winning on penalties. This marked his first start in over a month. Amorim emphasised that Garnacho remains integral to his plans, stating, "That is clear. He has talent. He's finding the best way to play in this system."

Amorim further elaborated on Garnacho's development, noting improvements during training sessions and his recent start. "He started the last game," Amorim added. "Let's see [against Southampton]. I think he changed the way he sees himself." These comments underscore the manager's belief in Garnacho's potential and adaptability within the team.
Despite Manchester United's current position of 15th in the league table, just seven points above relegation, Amorim remains optimistic about Garnacho's role. He highlighted areas for improvement, particularly in adapting to different positions on the field. "He needs to learn to play in a different position," Amorim explained.
The manager also pointed out that while Garnacho has improved defensively when not in possession, this sometimes affects his positioning for transitions. "He improves a lot in the recovering position when he doesn't have the ball," Amorim noted.
Garnacho had an impressive previous season with seven goals and four assists in the Premier League, marking his best performance for Manchester United so far. As they prepare to face Southampton at Old Trafford on Thursday, Amorim prefers a strategy focused on solid defence before building up play towards attack.
This approach aims to utilise Garnacho’s skills effectively while ensuring team cohesion and stability on the field. With continued guidance from Amorim, Garnacho is expected to refine his abilities further and contribute significantly to Manchester United’s efforts this season.
