Georgia and the Czech Republic are eager for a victory as they clash in their second Euro 2024 match in Hamburg on Saturday (June 22).
Both Georgia and the Czech Republic fought hard in their opening games but came up short. Turkey defeated Georgia 3-1, while Portugal edged out the Czechs 2-1 with a stoppage-time goal from Francisco Conceicao. A win would significantly improve either team's chances of advancing to the knockout rounds. However, a loss wouldn't necessarily eliminate them due to the rule allowing some third-place teams to qualify.

If the match ends in a draw, Georgia would need an upset win over Portugal in their final game, and the Czech team would require a similar result against Turkey. Georgian fans were involved in a brawl before their game against Turkey.
Georgia's midfielder Otar Kiteishvili has been training separately from the squad and was an unused substitute in their loss to Turkey. On the other hand, Czech coach Ivan Hasek downplayed fitness concerns around captain Tomas Soucek, stating he has been in full training. "I think everybody will be ready to start tomorrow," Hasek said.
Czech striker Patrik Schick is set to play his 40th game for his country, and his next goal will be his 20th. Five of his international goals came during the last European Championship.
Georgia coach Willy Sagnol emphasised the importance of putting on a good show, "Getting out of the group should be the goal, but the most important thing now is to put on a good show. We are still in the development phase and this tournament will help us to become even stronger in the future."
Czech midfielder Antonin Barak expressed his excitement saying, "I'm not nervous because football has given me everything and hard moments are something that I enjoy. Tomorrow is a great opportunity for me."
This is the first time these two teams will meet in any competitive match.
