Georgia vs Portugal Euro 2024 Player Ratings: Portugal Player Ratings in GEO vs POR

In the concluding match of Group F of Euro 2024, between Georgia and Portugal, the latter faced a surprising 2-0 defeat. With this win in their debut campaign of Euro, Georgia sealed a place in the knockout stages.

After a very early opening by the Napoli star Khvicha Kvaratskhelia, the match progressed with relentless trying for a goal by the Selecao but ended with conceding another.

This surprise defeat did not affect Portugal's standing on the table, as they managed to finish on the top with six points in three matches, but this victory was very much needed for the Crusaders to qualify for the knock-outs and they succeeded in this historic feat.

Euro 2024 GEO vs POR: Portugal Players Ratings

Diogo Costa: Costa could not do much for the first goal and for the penalty he guessed and dived in the right way but the pace of the shot defeated him.

Rating: 6/10

Goncalo Inacio: Was good on the duels but the misjudgements of two long balls could create more problems for his team.

Rating: 5/10

Danilo Pereira: Performed decently in recovering and passing the ball.

Rating: 6/10

Antonio Silva: A horrendous performance and responsible for both goals. A mispass led to the first goal within two minutes of the match and also made a reckless foul on Luka Lochoschvili which led to the penalty. Silva was substituted in the 66th minute.

Rating: 2/10

Pedro Neto: Shown a yellow card for an embarrassing attempt to swindle the referee to win a free-kick outside the box. Also, his crosses lacked accuracy.

Rating: 5/10

Joao Neves: Tried some long shots on the target and took some free kicks, but overall an average performance was delivered by the youngster.

Rating: 6/10

Joao Palhinha: Taken off at halftime for the second consecutive match. Try two times to level the score, one ended up in a save and the other was wide of the target.

Rating: 5/10

Diogo Dalot: Played with the required determination and took a curled attempt which ended up in a great save. Also had to give away a foul in the first half to prevent Georgia from advancing to an advantageous position.

Rating: 6/10

Joao Felix: Made a few decent attempts from a distance but failed to produce any positive results. Also gave away the ball easily on the duels against the Georgian midfielders on a few occasions.

Rating: 5/10

Francisco Conceicao: Failed to convert a promising chance in the first half. Despite losing possession many times, made some key runs and tried his best to continue the attacking prowess of Portugal.

Rating: 6/10

Cristiano Ronaldo: First time in his career, finished the Euro Group Stage without scoring a single goal. His all attempts got blocked and deflected including a swerving free-kick. Got booked in the 28th minute and later substituted.

Rating: 5/10

Substitutions:

Ruben Neves: Introduced in the second half to add some attacking prowess but failed to add much.

Rating: 5/10

Nelson Semedo: Replaced a lacklustre Antonio Silva and almost scored at the end of the match

Rating: 6/10

Goncalo Ramos: Replaced Ronaldo but failed to create a single promising chance.

Rating: 5/10

Diogo Jota: Played for just 15 minutes and had been promising in that short span.

Rating: 6/10

Matheus Nunes: Looked like a planned substitution for giving some game time rather than an urgency of the moment. Did not cede possession in that short period but overall remained ineffective.

Rating: 6/10

It was an overall below-average performance from the Portuguese side. The Portugal boss Roberto Martinez is likely to be questioned about his intent in this match. The lack of willingness to chase the equaliser was visible throughout the match. Some decisions about substitutions also looked puzzling. The Selecao must up their game in the upcoming knock-out match to progress further.
