Yann Bisseck has earned his first senior call-up for Germany, while Leon Goretzka makes a return for the Nations League quarter-final against Italy. Julian Nagelsmann's team will face Italy at San Siro on March 20 and then host them at Signal Iduna Park three days later.
Inter defender Bisseck has been selected by Nagelsmann after a strong season with the Nerazzurri, where he played 29 matches across all competitions, contributing to their Serie A success. Meanwhile, Bayern's Goretzka is back in the squad for the first time since November 2023. Nadiem Amiri returns after four years, having impressed at Mainz this season.

Borussia Dortmund's Karim Adeyemi is also recalled alongside David Raum and Stuttgart players Deniz Undav, Angelo Stiller, and Jamie Leweling. However, injuries have sidelined Florian Wirtz, Kai Havertz, and Aleksandar Pavlovic. Serge Gnabry, Julian Brandt, and Robin Gosens are also not included in the squad.
"Although we have to cope with some absences, we generally have a very good squad," Nagelsmann stated. "We chose these players out of conviction and tried to replace the lack of quality with quality, with players who are eager to play. The quarter-final against Italy is very important for us. These are two games that we absolutely must and want to play positively."
The German squad includes Oliver Baumann (Hoffenheim), Alexander Nubel (Stuttgart), Stefan Ortega (Manchester City), Yann Bisseck (Inter), Joshua Kimmich (Bayern Munich), Robin Koch (Eintracht Frankfurt), Maximilian Mittelstadt (Stuttgart), David Raum (RB Leipzig), Antonio Rudiger (Real Madrid), Nico Schlotterbeck (Borussia Dortmund), Jonathan Tah (Bayer Leverkusen).
Other notable selections are Karim Adeyemi (Borussia Dortmund), Nadiem Amiri (Mainz), Robert Andrich (Bayer Leverkusen), Leon Goretzka (Bayern Munich), Pascal Gross (Borussia Dortmund), Jamie Leweling (Stuttgart), Jamal Musiala (Bayern Munich), Leroy Sane (Bayern Munich).
The lineup is completed by Angelo Stiller (Stuttgart), Jonathan Burkardt (Mainz), Tim Kleindienst (Borussia Monchengladbach), and Deniz Undav (Stuttgart). This diverse selection aims to bring both experience and fresh energy to the team as they prepare for these crucial matches.
