Germany U21 Secures Impressive 3-0 Victory Against France U21 In Semi-Final Match

Germany Under-21s dominated France U21 with a 3-0 win in the semi-finals of the European Championships, setting up a final clash with England. Key players included Nelson Weiper and Nick Woltemade.

Germany Under-21s secured a spot in the European Championships final with a commanding 3-0 win over France Under-21s at Kosicka Futbalova Arena. They will face England, the defending champions, on Saturday. Both teams aim to clinch their fourth tournament victory. Germany's swift start saw Nelson Weiper and Nick Woltemade score within the first 14 minutes.

Weiper opened the scoring for Germany with a close-range finish after just eight minutes. He then assisted Woltemade, who doubled the lead. Weiper's high pressing allowed him to regain possession and set up Woltemade, whose initial shot was saved by Guillaume Restes but he scored on the rebound.

Germany U21 Defeats France U21 in Semi-Final

In the second half, France increased their efforts, but Germany's goalkeeper Noah Atubolu made an impressive save to deny Thierno Barry from close range. Despite France's attempts, Germany added a third goal in stoppage time when Brajan Gruda converted Paul Wanner's cross.

The third goal was initially ruled out for offside. However, a VAR review confirmed that Wanner had timed his run perfectly before delivering the cross from the right corner of the box. This ensured Gruda's goal stood, sealing Germany's victory.

Woltemade Chasing Records

Woltemade played a crucial role in Weiper’s opening goal and scored his sixth of the tournament against France. He is now one goal away from equalling the record for most goals in a single Under-21 European Championship edition. This record is shared by Marcus Berg of Sweden (2009) and Luka Waldschmidt of Germany.

The Stuttgart forward aims to make history when Germany faces England in Bratislava on Saturday. Notably, neither Berg nor Waldschmidt won a winners' medal despite their scoring feats.

The upcoming final promises an exciting clash between two strong teams vying for their fourth title. Both sides have shown exceptional skill throughout the tournament, setting up an eagerly anticipated showdown.
