Giroud Signs One-year Extension With Lille To 2027

Lille confirm that Olivier Giroud has agreed a one-year contract extension, keeping the forward at the club for the 2026-27 season. The 39-year-old’s previous deal was due to run out at the end of June.

The extension follows a strong campaign in which Lille secured the final Champions League position in Ligue 1, finishing ahead of Lyon. That league performance ensured a return to UEFA’s main club competition for next season.

Across all competitions in 2025-26, Olivier Giroud scored 11 goals in 44 appearances for Lille. Seven of those goals came in Ligue 1, while four were scored in the Europa League, where Lille exited in the round of 16 to eventual winners Aston Villa.

Speaking after signing the Lille contract extension, Giroud said: "I'm very happy to continue this adventure here," Giroud told the club website.

Giroud expanded on the reasons behind the Lille contract extension, saying: "I feel great at LOSC, completely fulfilled. The welcome from the fans this season in Lille, as in all French stadiums, has truly warmed my heart. Above all, I identify with the LOSC project, a club with values I share, a club that works hard and stands out from the others through its methods and results. I always want more, and I'm determined to continue and do even better this year."

Lille and Olivier Giroud will work under new head coach Davide Ancelotti next season, adding another change to the project. The club last lifted the Ligue 1 title in 2020-21, and previously won the Coupe de France in 2010-11.
