'It's Serious,' Enrique Concerned Over Ramos' Injury In PSG's Opening Win

Goncalo Ramos suffered a significant injury during PSG's opening day victory over Le Harve, raising concerns for coach Luis Enrique. With Ramos being a key player, his absence could pose challenges for the team aiming to compensate for Kylian Mbappe's departure.

Luis Enrique expressed concern over Goncalo Ramos' injury after the forward limped off during Paris Saint-Germain's opening day win against Le Havre. Ramos, who netted 11 goals for PSG last season, had to leave the field at Stade Oceane in the 20th minute following a late tackle from behind. The Portugal international had earlier assisted Lee Kang-In's goal within three minutes.

Ramos' early exit is a significant setback for Enrique, who aims to fill the void left by Kylian Mbappe's 27 league goals following his transfer to Real Madrid. "I'm not a doctor but I think it looks pretty serious. I don't know how many weeks he will be out injured but it's serious," Enrique commented.

Ramos' Injury Worries PSG

Despite the convincing scoreline, PSG capitalised on a late collapse from their opponents, scoring three times in the final six minutes after Gautier Lloris equalised three minutes into the second half. Ousmane Dembele, Bradley Barcola, and Randal Kolo Muani scored late goals.

New signing Joao Neves made an immediate impact by becoming only the second player to deliver two assists on his debut for PSG in all competitions in the 21st century. However, Enrique admitted that his team relaxed too much after Kang-In's early goal, making the match more challenging than expected.

"It wasn't easy at all. Maybe we started too calmly. We scored a goal very quickly and that relaxed us a bit too much, and we suffered a bit," Enrique said. He acknowledged that the second half saw more clear-cut chances for PSG, which allowed them to secure the victory.

Challenges Faced

Enrique highlighted that playing away from home is always difficult and praised his team's performance despite the challenges. "It's true that it was in the last part of the match that we performed best. We had some important players in the team and it's always difficult to play away from home," he noted.

The defending champions took advantage of their opponents' late collapse, securing a strong start to their league campaign with a 4-1 win over Le Havre. The victory sets a positive tone for PSG as they aim to defend their title this season.

PSG's next match will be crucial as they look to maintain their momentum and address any weaknesses exposed during this game. The team will need to stay focused and avoid complacency to continue their winning streak.

The injury to Ramos remains a concern, and PSG fans will be eagerly awaiting updates on his recovery timeline. His absence could impact the team's attacking options in upcoming matches.

Overall, PSG's performance showcased their potential but also highlighted areas for improvement as they navigate through the new season.
