Bengaluru, August 30: Pune FC have signed Croatian defender Damir Grgic from Slovenian club Rudar Velenje.
The 25-year-old becomes the club's sixth signing following Jonatan Lucca, Rafael Lopez, Marcelinho, Marcos Tebar and Emiliano Alfaro.
The club announced the arrival of Grgic on their Twitter handle.
Strong, fit and talented. He charmed the world with his skills and now, he will charge with the Stallions! That is how Pune FC described Grgic on their Facebook page.
Having played mostly in Germany, Slovenia and Austria, Grgic would be a good addition to the Antonio Lopez Habas-coached squad who failed to make it to the play-offs after finsihing a dismal sixth in the Indian Super League (ISL) last season.
The new ISL season starts on November 17.
Spanish defender Lopez was the last foreign recruit to join the Pune FC ranks and with the countdown for the ISL starting, they are looking to pull their weight this time and their fifth signing this month is a pointer in the case.
