Griezmann Confirms Stay At Atletico Madrid Through Season End After Tottenham Win

Antoine Griezmann confirmed that a move away from Atletico Madrid will not happen before June. The forward stated that staying at the club until the end of the current season is the plan. The confirmation followed a standout Champions League display against Tottenham, during which Griezmann again showed influence and leadership for Atletico Madrid on a major European stage.

The 34-year-old had been strongly linked with MLS side Orlando City in recent weeks. That speculation intensified as Griezmann continued to perform at a high level for Atletico Madrid. The French forward addressed those rumours directly after the match, stressing enjoyment of life at the club and a desire to complete the season before any decisions are discussed.

Griezmann played a central role in Atletico Madrid's 5-2 victory over Spurs in the Champions League. The forward struck the second goal of the night and later set up Julian Alvarez for the fifth. That result put Atletico Madrid in a strong position to qualify for the quarter-finals and underlined the team's attacking threat in this season's competition.

"Im very happy here, enjoying it a lot, and what I do on the field speaks for itself," said the 34-year-old. "Well see, but the idea is to go all the way [until the end of the season] and then everyone else can talk."

"We were better in the first half. Not so much in the second," said the Atleti boss. "The substitutions didn't work as well as usual; they were less intense, aggressive, and involved. They couldn't have the impact we wanted. Now we wait for Saturday's game."
