Arne Slot Affirms Pep Guardiola As The Best Manager Despite Manchester City's Recent Struggles

Despite Manchester City's recent struggles, Arne Slot maintains that Pep Guardiola is still the best manager in the world. He highlights City's potential and confidence in Guardiola's ability to find solutions ahead of their match against Liverpool.

Pep Guardiola is still regarded as the top manager globally by Arne Slot, despite Manchester City's recent challenges. City have not secured a victory in their last six matches across all competitions. Their latest game saw them lose a three-goal advantage to draw with Feyenoord in the Champions League. This marked the first time in Guardiola's 942-game managerial career that his team failed to win after leading by three goals.

City's upcoming match is against Slot's Liverpool, who recently defeated Real Madrid 2-0. This victory made Liverpool the first team to qualify for the Champions League knockout stages. Despite City's recent struggles, including losing their last three Premier League games, Slot remains confident in Guardiola's ability to turn things around. "Everybody is looking at their results but if you face them, you analyse it," Slot stated.

Slot Affirms Guardiola as Best Manager

Slot highlighted City's performance against teams like Brighton and Tottenham, noting they could have scored more goals. He praised Guardiola for consistently finding solutions to problems, saying, "We all know he will come up with a solution, but hopefully after Sunday."

Slot also provided updates on Conor Bradley and Ibrahima Konate, who appeared injured during the win over Madrid. Bradley excelled with four tackles and eight duels won against Los Blancos. Konate impressed with two interceptions, more than any other Liverpool player on Wednesday. Slot mentioned both players are still under assessment before City's visit to Anfield.

"It's difficult to know where they are," Slot commented regarding Bradley and Konate's conditions. He noted that Conor had to be taken off and Ibou couldn't walk off properly after such a great game. However, there was positive news about Trent Alexander-Arnold's fitness.

Trent Alexander-Arnold's Return

Trent Alexander-Arnold returned to Liverpool's bench on Wednesday but did not play. The England international missed the last three matches due to a hamstring injury. Only Mohamed Salah has created more chances than Alexander-Arnold for Liverpool this season in the Premier League. Slot confirmed that Alexander-Arnold would be fit to start against City.

Slot expressed optimism about Alexander-Arnold’s readiness: "Trent [Alexander-Arnold] will be fit to start." As City prepares for their clash with Liverpool at Anfield, fans anticipate how both teams will perform given their current circumstances and player conditions.
