FC Barcelona has got a new manager as Hansi Flick has been confirmed as the club's new coach, taking over from Xavi Hernandez.
Flick's appointment comes after FC Barcelona ended the 2023-24 season without any titles. Xavi had previously won the LALIGA title a season ago but failed to maintain that success last season.

Flick played for Bayern Munich and FC Koln in the late 1980s and early 1990s. He began his coaching career with 1899 Hoffenheim, then spent 14 years in various backroom roles. In 2006, he joined Joachim Löw's coaching staff for the German national team.
During his time with Germany, he was part of a successful era, reaching the Euro 2008 final, 2010 World Cup semi-finals, and winning the 2014 World Cup. He became Bayern Munich's interim head coach in 2019, leading the team to a historic treble and eventually a sextet.
After Euro 2020, Flick became Germany's head coach but left the role in 2023 after a disappointing World Cup performance. Now, he faces a new challenge in LALIGA, his first outside German football.
Flick reunites with former players like Robert Lewandowski, Marc-André ter Stegen, and İlkay Gundogan. All eyes are on him as he aims to guide FC Barcelona back to title contention. It is to be seen how the German instills the winning formula in the Spanish side, who have been off pace in the recently concluded season.
Success is a massively relative term. At a club such as Barcelona, success means winning every trophy that they compete, which hasn't been the case in the past few years. Xavi Hernandez did well the season before, but this season was a disaster for him.
And the biggest challenge for Hansi Flick would be to get back the winning mentality and find the equation of success within the team. There has been a bit of turmoil at the club over the last few years for many reasons. He will have to ride those challenges, weather the storm and get the team performing to find success at the very highest level, which is never easy and not a short-term process at all.
It is to be seen whether the Spanish club sticks with him and gives the German the time to implement his vision at the club. But nevertheless, it is going to be a monumental task.
