Harry Kane Remains Doubtful Ahead Of Bayern Munich's Champions League Match Against Aston Villa

Harry Kane's availability for Bayern Munich's Champions League match against Aston Villa is in question. Coach Vincent Kompany stated that while Kane trained well, a final decision will be made closer to the game.

Bayern Munich's coach, Vincent Kompany, has expressed uncertainty about Harry Kane's participation in the upcoming Champions League match against Aston Villa on Wednesday. Kane recently scored four goals in Bayern's 9-2 victory over Dinamo Zagreb, marking a historic moment as no team had ever scored nine goals in a Champions League match before. This achievement also made Kane England's top scorer in the competition, surpassing Wayne Rooney.

Despite his impressive performance, Kane did not manage a shot during Bayern's 1-1 Bundesliga draw with Bayer Leverkusen and sustained an injury late in the game. Kompany mentioned that Kane trained successfully today but emphasised the need to assess his condition tomorrow before making any decisions. "Harry trained today, and things went well. But we need to wait and see until tomorrow and be sure things stay like that," Kompany stated at a press conference.

Kane Uncertain for Bayern's Villa Encounter

Kompany is looking forward to facing Unai Emery's Aston Villa team, which has been performing well recently. He acknowledged Villa's long absence from the European Cup, noting their remarkable achievements last season. "Everyone knows it's been over 40 years since Aston Villa last played in the European Cup," Kompany said. He praised their organisation and home atmosphere but stressed Bayern's experience in such matches.

Serge Gnabry, who previously played for Arsenal and West Brom before returning to Germany with Bayern, expressed excitement about playing in England again. "England is very special," Gnabry remarked, highlighting the unique atmosphere of English stadiums. He is eager to play at Villa Park, anticipating an electrifying environment as it will be Villa's first home game in the Champions League for many years.

The anticipation surrounding this match is palpable as both teams prepare for what promises to be an exciting encounter on Wednesday night.
