Lauren Hemp will miss England's upcoming friendlies after undergoing knee surgery, as confirmed by Manchester City. The forward has been absent from City's last two games, including their 2-0 loss to Chelsea in the Women's Super League. Sarina Wiegman stated that the surgery is not related to an ACL injury, but the club has not specified her recovery timeline.
Ella Toone from Manchester United is also unavailable for Wiegman due to a calf injury. Her absence against Leicester City ended her streak of 96 consecutive league starts. Additionally, Niamh Charles, Lauren James, and Lucy Parker are sidelined with injuries. The Chelsea duo missed the previous international break due to their ongoing issues.

The 24-year-old Hemp recently became the youngest player in Women's Super League history to score 50 goals. She currently leads in assists with five and has created 26 chances this season. Overall, she has scored twice and provided seven assists across all competitions, including three assists in City's 4-0 victory over Tottenham.
With several players out due to injuries, Laura Blindkilde Brown and Ruby Mace have received their first international call-ups. Gabby George returns to the squad for the first time since November 2022. England will face the United States at Wembley on November 30 before playing Switzerland three days later.
