San Marino's football team achieved a historic milestone by securing their first-ever away win, defeating Liechtenstein 3-1 in the Nations League. This victory marks only their third win ever, with all triumphs against Liechtenstein. Previously, they won 1-0 at home in a friendly in 2004 and another Nations League match in September.
Aron Sele initially put Liechtenstein ahead five minutes before the break. However, San Marino turned the game around with second-half goals from Lorenzo Lazzari, Nicola Nanni, and Alessandro Golinucci. This remarkable comeback secured a memorable victory for the visitors.

San Marino's head coach, Roberto Cevoli, expressed his pride in the team's performance. "Finishing that first half 1-0 down was an insult to football, but the boys were brilliant and deserved what they've managed to achieve," said Cevoli.
Marco Tura, president of San Marino's Football Federation, praised the players' efforts. "These boys made history tonight. As people, as athletes, as men, they have shown what they are worth. I cried with the boys," he stated.
This match marked the first time San Marino scored more than one goal in a competitive fixture. Additionally, it was unprecedented for them to score three goals in any match throughout their history.
With this victory, San Marino earned promotion to Nations League C after leading Group D1 with seven points. This achievement highlights their progress and determination on the international stage.
