Kerala Blasters and their possibility of making top six

Kerala Blasters began the second half of this ISL 2023-24 season at the top of the league table. However, it hasn't gone well for them since starting this half of the season. They've played five matches so far since early February.

They have lost four out of those five games. Now, they are sitting in 5th position in the Indian Super League table. They now need at least five points to qualify for the play-offs. They can also qualify for the top six with fewer points.

However, for that, they need to keep an eye on other teams to lose points in their matches. They should be able to qualify easily considering they still have five more matches to play. Kerala have no chance of winning the shield unless the current top four drop points.

In their next five matches, their toughest opponent will be Mohun Bagan who they play at home on March 13 after about a half month of break. On the other hand, Mohun Bagan will fly after playing the big Kolkata derby on March 10.

Hence, they can take advantage of more rest time and the home crowd. However, it will still be tough for KBFC considering the Mariners are currently in a great form. Following that match, the Indian Super League will go on another international break.

Kerala will then still have four matches to play against Jamshedpur FC, East Bengal, NorthEast United, and Hyderabad FC. Even if they can't win against the Mariners, five points from these four matches should be easy to achieve for the men in yellow.

They still have five players who will be out with injuries, probably for the rest of the season. These injuries have been the reason behind Kerala's defeats one after another. They could still be able to win the next few matches and qualify for the top six nonetheless.
