Hugo Boumous has haunted the Mohun Bagan supporters with a goal against his old team in the ISL.

Playing for Odisha FC, the Frenchman netted within 4 minutes of the match at the Kaling Stadium in Bhubaneswar.

The Mariners' defence was breached so early in the first half. But along with the goal against his old club, Boumous is set to write a little piece of history with his name.

Hugo Boumous has scored the first indirect free-kick goal inside the penalty box in the history of ISL. The Indian Super League, which stretches back to 2014, witnessed its first-ever goal from an indirect free-kick within the penalty box.

How did it Happen?

The Mariners conceded a free kick within the penalty box. Asish Rai's back pass was handled by the Mohun Bagan goalkeeper Vishal Kaith, which set up the Odisha free kick.

Ahmed Jahouh set up Boumous with the indirect free kick, which was then blasted in by the Frenchman against his old team. The shot took a deflection of Manvir Singh before finding the net, much to the delight of the home supporters.

Speaking of Boumous, the 27-year-old joined Odisha FC from Mohun Bagan this season and has now struck a significant goal against his former employers. The Frenchman has already netted 2 goals this season in the league along with 3 assists.
