Denzel Dumfries scored a late equaliser to help the Netherlands secure a 1-1 draw against Hungary in their Nations League match. This result preserved their unbeaten run in Group A3, despite Virgil van Dijk's red card. Roland Sallai had given Hungary the lead by converting Zsolt Nagy's cross during a swift counterattack in the first half.
Hungary began strongly, with Sallai hitting the post early on. Denes Dibusz was tested by Cody Gakpo just before halftime. The Netherlands faced more challenges when Van Dijk received two yellow cards within three minutes, leaving them with ten players for the final 11 minutes.

Despite being a player down, Ronald Koeman's team managed to equalise four minutes later. Dumfries found himself unmarked and headed home Gakpo's free-kick delivery. The match ended without further goals, keeping the Netherlands second in the group standings with five points.
This draw marked the first time since September 7, 2005, that the Netherlands scored after receiving a red card. Van Dijk's dismissal made him the oldest Dutch player to be sent off since Phillip Cocu in that same match at 34 years and 313 days old.
The result leaves Hungary three points behind the Netherlands and two points behind group leaders Germany. Both teams were unable to find a winning goal in the closing stages of the game.
