Tottenham are searching for another head coach after parting company with Igor Tudor, and early reports indicate Roberto De Zerbi is the leading candidate. However, experienced coach Adi Hutter has indicated that any approach from Spurs would arrive too soon, as Hutter prefers to wait until the next campaign starts before returning to the dugout.
Spurs dismissed Tudor on Sunday after a short and difficult reign that lasted just 44 days. Tudor managed only one victory after replacing Thomas Frank, and the poor run concluded with a 3-0 defeat to Nottingham Forest. Tottenham now sit 17th in the Premier League table, holding a one-point cushion over the relegation places.

The club confirmed Tudor’s departure in an official statement, which also announced exits for key backroom staff. Goalkeeping coach Tomislav Rogic and physical coach Riccardo Ragnacci also left their roles at the same time. The announcement underlined that the parties had agreed to end their collaboration immediately, bringing another abrupt coaching spell in north London to a close.
Hutter, who lost the Monaco job in October, has been mentioned among several possible successors. The Austrian is well known across European leagues and therefore naturally appears in speculation when a major Premier League post opens. Despite that, Hutter has publicly insisted that a mid-season return does not match current plans.
Explaining the position, Hutter told Sky Sports Austria that several clubs had recently been linked. "In the last few days and weeks, I have been increasingly linked with various clubs," said Hutter, as reported by Sky Sports Austria. "However, as I already said immediately after my time at Monaco, I fundamentally want to work as a head coach again at the beginning of the new season at the earliest. My stance on this topic has not changed since then."
While Tottenham assess options, reports state that former Brighton and Marseille manager Roberto De Zerbi is viewed as the preferred candidate. The club must balance short-term Premier League survival concerns with longer-term planning for the next season. With Hutter ruling out a quick return, Spurs will likely focus attention on other available coaches for the current campaign.
