Hyderabad FC resume their hunt for the first win of the season as they host Mohun Bagan at a neutral venue at the Kalinga Stadium in Bhubaneswar on Saturday (December 2).
Hyderabad FC had to move away from their home in the Telangana capital for this one game due to Assembly Elections in the southern state. The lack of home fans may hurt them as defending champions Mohun Bagan have been an unstoppable force in the ISL 2023-24 season so far with four wins in four games.
The Mariners, last competed in the Indian Super League (ISL) a month ago against Jamshedpur FC, are back in domestic football after back-to-back defeats in the AFC Cup group stages against Basundhara Kings and Odisha FC respectively.
The 5-2 loss to the Juggernauts would have prompted serious concerns because the outstanding talent passing through their ranks may not have justified the result.
Ferrando can find comfort, nevertheless, in the knowledge that he has the players at his disposal to bring about a turnaround, and that they may have the ideal chance to do so this season against a Hyderabad FC team that has yet to experience success
The team has lost four games and drawn three in their last seven meetings, but they need to see this as a window of opportunity against a well-prepared Mohun Bagan Super Giant lineup that is struggling to recover from a string of defeats.
Hyderabad FC's incapacity to put balls into the back of the opposition's net is the root of all of their issues. They must persevere in their search for answers, especially in light of the fact that several players, including Joe Knowles, Mohammad Yasir, and Petteri Pennanen, have displayed varying degrees of individual brilliance throughout the season. For Singto to gain some traction in this campaign, it is imperative that those efforts unite and unfold collectively on the field as soon as possible.
