Nottingham Forest have secured the services of Igor Jesus from Botafogo. The 24-year-old striker has committed to a four-year contract with the Premier League team following a reported £10 million transfer to City Ground. Jesus began his professional journey at Coritiba in Brazil before moving to Shabab Al Ahli in the UAE, where he netted 43 goals and provided 20 assists over 88 matches.
In July 2024, Jesus returned to Brazil and played a pivotal role in Botafogo's success, helping them clinch both the Serie A title and the Copa Libertadores. During the Club World Cup, he featured in all four of Botafogo's matches, scoring decisive goals against Seattle Sounders and Paris Saint-Germain in the group stage before their last-16 exit to Palmeiras.

Jesus made an impressive start on the international stage for Brazil. In October 2024, he scored during his senior debut against Chile and later provided an assist in a match against Peru. His performances have marked him as a promising talent for both club and country.
The forward expressed his excitement about joining Nottingham Forest on their official website: "I'm really happy to be a part of this new story, especially at a club like Nottingham Forest." He added that he was eager to embrace the project presented to him and is determined to deliver great results for the club.
Jesus is versatile across the attacking line and might fill the void left by Anthony Elanga. The Swedish winger is reportedly close to joining Newcastle United after they submitted a second bid worth £55 million this summer. Jesus aims to contribute significantly and bring joy to the Forest supporters with his performances.
"I didn't have to think twice about the offer; I embraced it," said Jesus. "I am delighted to be coming here and hope to do some great work. I will do my very best to achieve great results and bring joy to all the Forest family."
