The All India Football Federation (AIFF) and India Football Team head coach Igor Stimac are said to be at loggerheads with each other. Reports in the media stated that Stimac and AIFF President Kalyan Chaubey haven’t spoken with each other for over 10 months. However, now the rumors have been put to rest.
AIFF supremo Kalyan Chaubey said that the news of the clash between the board and the head coach is false. “I don't know why or how these speculations have come to be, but since they're here, I would like to say that the chief coach is very much in communication with the [AIFF] president,” Chaubey told RevSportz.

Though India’s performance of late has been poor. Stimac continues to believe that he has the full support of the board. “It's a pleasure being here and it's a pleasure answering questions which were created by someone else and they come as a surprise to me,” Stimac said on the same platform.
“Because me and the (AIFF) president, personally with the (AIFF) vice-president, seven months ago, had a meeting and agreed what we were going to do for the next two and a half years and our plan is clear. I'm in daily contact with the football house with the previous and the current general secretary,” the Indian head coach added.
Not just Chaubey, Stimac also put the rumors of a rift to bed. He categorically denied the news claiming they know what they need to do and how to counter and solve problems. He even said that he sat down with Chaubey last July and discussed where the Indian football team was leading.
“That's how we operate. We're not going to change the mode of operations just because someone thinks this or that. We know what we need to do. We know how to approach the problems and how to solve them,” Stimac added.
