Imran Khan leaves Jamshedpur FC as multiple ISL clubs interested in Manipur winger

As Jamshedpur FC continue their ride in the ongoing Durand Cup 2025, a significant player has been missing from their squad.

Imran Khan, the dynamic winger who has been a key player in recent times, was not named in the team for the Durand Cup.

Although there hasn't been any official confirmation on Imran Khan's departure, MyKhel understands the player has left the club.

A source close to proceedings confirmed MyKhel that the Imphal-born player has left JFC after a lack of opportunity last season. Imran had a breakout season with the Steel Miners in 2023-24 season and was also called up to the India camp, under the tenure of Igor Stimac.

But the last season was not productive for Imran as he failed to score an ISL goal in 24 appearances, and significantly fell down the pecking order under Khalid Jamil. But the 30-year-old is determined to showcase his quality in the upcoming season and return to his best self.

MyKhel understands the player has been approached by various ISL clubs, with the likes of Chennaiyin FC, Odisha FC and FC Goa among the suitors. There were a couple of Kolkata clubs who were also interested, but the player may end up at a non-Kolkata-based club once the ISL conundrum resolves.

A source close to proceedings confirmed MyKhel in a condition of anonymity, that the player wants to go to a club where he will have regular opportunities. Despite the interest across the country, Odisha FC and Chennaiyin are currently leading the race for the winger. Although out of professional action, the player is determined to preserve his fitness level and is expected to join a camp at Ukhrul next week.
