Bengaluru, September 5: India should fancy their chances as they take on Macau in an away game of the 2019 AFC Asian Cup qualifier today (September 5).

The match begins at 5pm (IST).

Coming into the match at the Estadio Campo Desportivo in Macau, India are on a red-hot form, enjoying a 10-match unbeatean run.

They are also on top of Group A with six points from the 1-0 wins against Myanmar and the Kyrgyz Republic respectively while Macau is at the rock bottom, having not won a single match.

A win on Tuesday followed by three more points when Macau visit Bengaluru on October 10 would be enough for India to make their return to the AFC Asian Cup fold.

India last appeared at the AFC's quadrennial showpiece event at 2011 in Doha, but missed out on the Sydney edition four years later.

The expanded 2019 edition featuring 24 teams will be held in the UAE.

India warmed up for the Macau game by winning a a three-nation tournament at home that saw them defeat Mauritius and hold the formidable Saint Kitts and Nevis.

Ever since India touched the base in Macau a couple of days back, it has been raining heavily and it is expected to pour during the match day as well.

But the Indian camp is not loosing its sleep over it and is conentrating on the task at hand.

"We hope to play our game and not allow Macau to play theirs," chief coach Stephen Constantine said.

"We are here to win but Macau will also be playing to win. Every team plays to win. I feel Macau were unlucky against Kyrgyz Republic when they played away. They should have scored a couple and are a team which is quite brilliant on the counter attack. "I am sure they are ready for us. We have some youngsters in the team and that is because of the evolution which were undergoing in the team," Constantine added.
