Under Khalid Jamil, the Blue Tigers have now gone winless in three FIFA-approved matches, and will now take on Hong Kong in the final qualifier in March next year, which will be nothing but a formality.

The Blue Tigers had an underwhelming first half and a defensive lapse led to the goal. Despite India showing better performance in the second half and applying pressure, they could not find the back of the net. The loss means India remains winless in the qualifiers so far and they have now also lost their first match against Bangladesh in 22 years.

Ranked 136 by FIFA, the Indian team has so far has played against Singapore (Rank 155), Hong Kong (Rank 148) and Bangladesh (Rank 183) - but have failed to win a single match in the five encounters so far. They remain at the bottom of their group with just 2 points in five matches.
