India vs Brazil: Carlo Ancelotti says 'Motivation' for 'New Generation' ahead of India match, acknowledges 'Big Opportunity'
Brazil head coach Carlo Ancelotti says the upcoming match against India as an opportunity for his squad to showcase its quality while insisting that his side has "full respect" for the Blue Tigers.
The Italian was speaking ahead of Brazil's much-anticipated encounter against India, with Ancelotti stressing that his team is focused on building a new identity and creating cohesion within a squad that features a mixture of established stars and new faces.

"I hope it will be an entertaining game. We're happy to be here and to show our quality," Ancelotti said at the pre-match press conference on Friday.
Brazil arrive in India after playing two matches in Australia, drawing one and winning the other 4-2. The Italian believes the games in Australia and India form an important part of Brazil's preparations as he continues to assess his squad.
"All these games in Australia and India are good preparation and a good opportunity to show what we can do," Ancelotti said.
Ancelotti praises India
Despite the significant difference in international pedigree between the two teams, Ancelotti insisted that Brazil would not underestimate their opponents.
India recently held Panama to a 1-1 draw, and Ancelotti pointed to that performance while speaking about the respect Brazil has for the home side.
"We have respect for the quality of the Indian team. They played a good draw against Panama. We have full respect for our opponents," he said.
The Brazilian squad is currently undergoing a period of transition, with Ancelotti working to integrate several younger players alongside experienced figures such as Vinicius Jr and Marquinhos. Arsenal duo Gabriel Magalhaes and Bruno Guimaraes also remain part of the group.
Brazil's goalkeeping department, however, has undergone a major overhaul, with Alisson, Ederson and Weverton left out. Corinthians goalkeeper Hugo Souza has emerged as the first-choice option, with Pedro Morisco and Otavio providing further competition.
The defence has also seen several changes, with Arthur Dias, Jair, Matheuzinho and Mauro Junior brought into the squad.

'Not a test, but an opportunity'
Ancelotti rejected the suggestion that Saturday's match would determine which players make his final plans.
"For the squad and all the players, it's not a test or an opportunity to prove themselves. We are still defining the final squad for the match. It's not a test, but an opportunity," he said.
The Italian also refused to reveal his starting XI when asked directly, simply replying: "No."
Ancelotti admitted that managing Brazil comes with challenges that differ significantly from club football, particularly because of the limited time available with players.
"Training at clubs and training with a national team is very different. You have to select the right players. At a club, you have more time to do the right things. It is special to train the national team of Brazil," he said.
Brazil looking to rebuild after World Cup disappointment
Brazil's preparations come after a disappointing 2026 World Cup campaign, with the five-time world champions eliminated by Norway in the pre-quarterfinal stage.
Ancelotti acknowledged that Brazil had fallen short of the standards expected from the team but believes that setback can provide motivation for a new generation.
"It's true that we were not able to compete enough in the World Cup. It was a difficult period for us. It is motivation for a new generation of players to be able to compete at the highest level in the next years," he said.
Brazil have not lifted the World Cup since their 2002 triumph in Japan and South Korea. Ancelotti believes the modern game has evolved considerably since then, with greater emphasis on collective organisation and teamwork.
"In my personal opinion, the talent Brazil was able to show in 2002 was big talent. Football has changed. There is more teamwork now," he said.
The veteran coach also addressed his famously composed demeanour, saying patience remains an important part of his approach.
"It's part of my character. I'm usually patient in football, and as a manager, I think patience is an important quality," he concluded.
