India vs Kuwait: Sunil Chhetri revealed that he would be hanging up his boots after India’s FIFA World Cup Qualifiers match against Kuwait on June 6 at the Salt Lake Stadium in Kolkata.
To make the occasion even special for the Indian football team captain, the Indian Football Association (IFA) is leaving no stone unturned to felicitate.

As per an Anandabazar Online report, masks with Sunil's face will be given to the 62,000 fans attending the game that day. Large banners featuring Sunil Chhetri are also expected to adorn the stadium. To make things more memorable, the IFA might even shower flowers by drones.
The Indian football team captain Chhetri along with head coach Igor Stimac and the rest of the team's players landed in Kolkata after spending their camp in Bhubaneswar on Wednesday. A group of 50 people welcomed them at the airport with large banners. IFA Secretary Anirban Dutta was also there in the crowd to welcome them.
Reportedly, IFA Secretary Anirban Dutta expressed his excitement about the event. He stated, "It is going to be a very proud day for us. We will have to make it memorable." The IFA have a few more plans in store but they have chosen to keep everything under the wraps for now.
Fans are set to bid farewell to one of their greatest Indian football team icons Sunil Chhetri. The captain and all-time leading goal-scorer for the Indian national team announced his retirement from international football a few weeks ago and fans have been heartbroken since.
Chhetri has been a backbone for the Blue Tigers, earning 150 caps and scoring 94 goals. He is the third-highest international goalscorer among active players. The upcoming match against Kuwait should be a fitting tribute to Chhetri's illustrious career and it's looking like the IFA are making sure of it.
