Sunil Chhetri spoke at length to media at the mixed zone but refused to comment on what happened during the match saying he missed what happened on the touchline as he was away from all the action and by the time he reached the spot, the fight was over.
We are waiting at the media mixed zone for further reaction from the Indian players

Mahesh Gawli said Stimac was targetted by the referees today as the Indian coach said nothing to the referee. He furhter added that India were the best team today on the field and Kuwait resorted to unsportsmanlike behaviour with their bad tackles and play. He further criticised the referee for losing control of the match and giving decisions on purpose against them. He said Indian football won't grow with refeering standar like this!

India's assistant coach Mahesh Gawli, who is attending the press conference due to Stimac's red card, said there was nothing wrong with Stimac's behaviour but the quality of refereeing was sub-standard during the match.

Reacting to the fights between players on the field and in the dugout, coach Bento said what happened today was not normal but sometimes players' emotions get the better of them on the field and incidents like that happens.
Coach Bento says he doesn't like speaking about the refereeing decision in any match and will like to keep it that way.
Kuwait's Italian coach Rui Fernando Dasilva Bento has joined the press conference. Quotes up next!
Not the result India were looking for as the clean sheet streak ended with an own goal while coach Stimac saw another red card in space of three games. Rahim Ali won't play any part in the semis too as he got the marching order as well. Don't go anywhere as we will bring you all the Live reaction of coaches of both teams from the post-match press conference shortly!
Extremely unfortunate result in the end.

After dominating the game for more than 90 minutes, the #BlueTigers 🐯 had to settle for a draw 😔#INDKUW ⚔️ #SAFFChampionship2023 🏆 #IndianFootball ⚽ pic.twitter.com/2rj2fyBAf4

There was a wild goal celebration from the Kuwait players following Anwar's own goal as they ran to the dugout to celebrate while pointing at Stimac on the stand. With the goal, India's record eight-match clean streak came to an end. India made efforts to take the lead back in the closing minute but couln't find an opening before the referee blew the final whistle.

The players were shown the red card after Al Qallaf fouled Nikhil Poojary. Rahim Ali came charging at Qallaf following the tackle and pushed the Kuwait player to the ground. That led to a fight among the players while players and staff at the dugouts had an heated exchange of words too.

Our apologies for the delay in updates. There was a network glitch causing the delay. As the connection is restored! Kuwait have equalised following an own goal from Anwar Ali. The goal came right after both sides were reduced to 10 men as India's Rahim Ali and Al Qallaf were given the marching order by the referee.
Stimac is now sitting among fans at the stand right behind the Indian dugout. Meanwhile Amarinder Singh makes a stunning save after Al Khaldi made a mazy run into the box and shot a strong effort aiming for the far post! Nobody would have blamed the goalkeeper if that went in!
The coach made two changes before getting sent off as Udanta Singh and Rahim Ali came in for Sunil Chhetri and Chhangte.

Red Card to Igor Stimac! The coach has been sent off for the second time this tournament! It's unclear why he was shown red card this time as the lines official complained to the referee.
Al Khaldi with an audacious shoot from a tight angle from outside the box as he hoped to catch Amarinder by surprise. The goalkeeper was eveready!
Sandesh Jhingan makes a crucial interception to goal-bound Al Khaldi as the center-back timed his effort when the Kuwait forward was about to shoot! The crowd is now chanting the centre-back's name!
India are not letting their intensity down as they are pushing for the second goal while Kuwait are mostly absorbing the pressure.
Jeakson turns provider this time as he feeds Sahal Abdul Samad inside the box, the NO. 10 used his trickery before his shot was deflected for the corner! India are threatening for the insurance goal as Jeakson is playing in an advanced position in the midfild after Thapa came off.
Jeakson Singh gets into space to shoot but his effort was deflected for a corner! The resulting corner by Chhangte was again headed off-target by Jeakson again! The defensive midfielder was man on a mission there!
Igor Stimac sees yellow card! This time the Indian coach gets into an argument Kuwait midfielder Abu Jabarah. The midfielder was taken off right after by the coach as he is replaced by Al Otaibi. Winger Al Rashidi came off as well for last-match goalscorer Al Faneeni.
Anwar Ali suffers from cramps and calls for medical assistance meanwhile Sahal Abdul Samad and Rohit Kumar come in for Anirudh and Ashique
Double substitution by Kuwait as Al Bloushi and Khaled Hajiah come in for Al Harbi and Al Fahad. Meanwhile Amrinder Singh makes a good save as Al Khaldi hits a shot on target from a freekick
Al Rashidi with a shot off target from the right of the goal after a patient build up by Kuwait resulted in a cross for the winger! Kuwait are showing promise to get back in the game!
India threaten through the flank as Ashique and then Mahesh deliver threatening crosses into the box and it eventually resulted in an effort over the crossbar by Ashique, who hit a powerful half-volley!
Frantic start to the second half with duels taking place in the midfield so far!
Kuwait players are out too as players are taking their position before the start of the second half!
Players are back on the pitch for second half with the Indian team in a huddle. Kuwait players are yet to come out with the referee waiting!
Despite clear cut chances on both ends, it is important to mention that India were the better side with the amount of opportunities created as their wingers Noarem Mahesh Singh and Lallinzuala Chhangte threatened again and again to find gaps in Kuwait defence. It was a nice shift from Kuwait defence untill Chhetri did the unthinkable!
You can call it an even first half with both teams having their opportunities to score before India's legendary forward made the difference with his surreal striking abilites in front of the goal.
.@sunil YET AGAIN!!

Despite qualifying for the semis, the match is not entirely a dead rubber as the top spot in the group is still up for grabs. The group topper will also have the advantage of playing a weaker outfit in the semis with Bangladesh and Maldives as the likely contenders while the tournament's highest-ranked Lebanon (World No. 99) are favourite to top the group.
A the moment, World No. 101 India are placed second in the group despite being locked at six points each with World No. 143 Kuwait as the latter leads by virtue of more goals scored after being tied on goal difference (+6).
Kuwait have scored seven goals in two games after beating Nepal (3-1) and Pakistan (4-0) while India galloped Pakistan 4-0 and then played a hard-fought win against Nepal (2-0).
Nepal and Pakistan have already bowed out of the SAFF Championship 2023 after losing their first two games but Nepal went home with a victory at least as they defeated Pakistan in their last group game earlier today with substitute Aashish Chaudhary scoring a 80th minute goal to seal the win. They also finished third in the group with three points in three games.
Pakistan, on the other hand, were placed bottom of the group after losing their all three group games while failing to score any goals in the SAFF Championship. Rubbing salt on their wound is the goal conceded as they consumed nine goals over three games and has the weakest defence in the tournament so far.
