India are set to play Kuwait in the World Cup Asian Qualifiers Round 2 match at the Yuba Bharati Krirangan in Kolkata on Thursday (June 6).

This crucial match for the Blue Tigers has another massive importance as India captain and legend Sunil Chhetri is set to play his final match in international colours.

The India legend will hang his boots from international football after 151 appearances. The striker has so far scored 93 goals for the country, sitting 3rd among the highest scorers in international football, only after Cristiano Ronaldo and Lionel Messi.

As the Blue Tigers take on Kuwait in this crucial match, the starting lineup has already been announced. Sunil Chhetri will start for the team in his swansong, while Gurpret Singh Sindhu is set to be the custodian.

Apart from that, another significant team news from Igor Stimac's selection is the introduction of Jay Gupta in the starting lineup, who is making his international debut today. Subhasish Bose has gone to the bench while Nikhil Poojary will be playing as right-back.
