India vs Kuwait, World Cup Qualifiers Points Table: India have played out a goalless draw against Kuwait in the World Cup Asian Qualifiers Round 2 at the Yuba Bharati Krirangan in Kolkata.

The Blue Tigers were sitting 2nd in the standings after a dismal couple of results against Afghanistan. As per the qualification rules, only two teams will be advancing to the 3rd round of the Asian qualifiers.

The Blue Tigers have never been in the 3rd round of Asian qualifiers and it was a massive opportunity for the Indian team to get three points and take them into the pole position in the qualification race.

India began the first half with high intensity. The left flank was active early on, with Jay Gupta and Liston Colaco pressuring the Kuwait defence. Colaco delivered a precise cross from the left, narrowly missing Sunil Chhetri. Shortly after, Kuwait almost scored, but Youssef Nasser missed the target.

Anwar Ali had a good chance in the 28th minute. He found space in the box but headed straight at the Kuwait keeper. India dominated possession and created more opportunities but couldn't penetrate the visitors' defence. The first half ended in a stalemate at Salt Lake Stadium, leaving everything to play for.

Coach Stimac made several substitutions, bringing in players like Manvir Singh and Brandon Fernandes. Despite these changes, the home side lacked precision in front of goal. Kuwait also had chances, but Gurpreet continued to be a reliable barrier. The match became scrappy towards the end, with players from both teams clashing.

India was held to a goalless draw at the hands of Kuwait. The match ended 0-0 in Kolkata.
