The referee blows the final whistle! Another clean sheet for India! That should be the eighth on the trot as India demolish Pakistan 4-0 through a Sunil Chhetri hattrick and takes a big leap in the group with three points and goal advantage. The entirety of Kanteerava crowd is chanting one name. Chhetri! Chhetri! Chhetri!
Pakistan make a late effort on the counter through their left flank but Mahesh Singh made a super tackle to take the ball out of play! No consolation for Pakistan as India want that clean sheet!
The match official adds five minutes of play and India are still hungry for their fifth goal of the night as Nikhil Poojary shoots inches off the post from the right flank. Another fan invades the pitch and tries to reach for Sunil Chhetri at the bench but he was taken care of by the official.
What a shift put in by the Indian forward duo as India's goalscoring fallacies from Bhubaneswar were taken care of in Bengaluru. This was the fourth time an Indian footballer scored a hattrick against Pakistan. IM Vijayan, Jeje Lalpekhlua and Puran Bahadur Thapa were the previous footballers to achieve the rare feat.

What must be going through the goalkeeper’s mind when he sees this combination standing over a freekick?🤔#SAFFChampionship2023 🏆 #INDPAK #IndianFootball ⚽️ #BlueTigers 🐯 pic.twitter.com/XDW5Yumh1U
Hattrick hero Sunil Chhetri is taken off and is replaced by midfielder Liston Colaco amid rousing reception from the Kanteerava crowd! Earlier Udanta Singh and Naorem Mahesh Singh replaced both the wingers Lallinzuala Chhangte and Ashique Kuruniyan.
Our apologies for the delay in the Live coverage of India vs Pakistan football match. There was a network connectivity issue as the Kanteerava Stadium. While the connection was off Sunil Chhetri completed his hat-trick in the 75th minute through a penalty kick while substitute Udanta Singh scored in the 80th minute after Anwar Ali fed him with a long pass.
A fan wearing Indian jersey invades pitch to hug Sunil Chhetri. The fan was quickly taken off the pitch by officials on the ground. The match resumes after momentary disruption
PAKISTAN AVOID OWN GOAL! Rahis Nabi hits the crossbar with the header after India's No. 10 Sahal Abdul Samad delivers a dangerous indirect freekick into the box! Pak goalkeeper eventually palmed the ball away for a corner!
Double substitution by coach Stimac as right-back Nikhil Poojary and midfielder Rohit Kumar comes on for Pritam Kotal and Anirudh Thapa as like-for-like replacements.
It seems the Pakistan attacks were short lived as Indian midfielders and defenders used lateral short passing to slow the game down. It was followed by back-to-back attacks from the right flank by Chhangte but Pakistan defence was alert. Must say, the wet conditions are not allowing India to move as freely as they would like to.
Pakistan are showing some fight following the changes as they attack from the right and then the left flank in space of a minute, winning corner with the second attempt. The corner was safely dealt by Amrinder, who punched the ball away from the box!
Meanwhile Pakistan coach earlier made two changes as Ali Khan and Shayak Dost come in for Hassan Bashir and Umar Hayat, who earlier saw yellow card as well.
India continue to dominate the second half but are not able to be as incisive as they were in the first half.
An early chance to score is squandered by Abdul Samad as he failed to connect his foot with the ball! In his defence, the wet conditions made the attempt tricky

The second half gets underway amid rain and you can see at the bottom half of the photo that the media tribune is vacant due to the downpour
Five minutes later Sunil Chhetri doubled India's lead from the penalty spot as the Pakistan defender handled the ball under pressure.
With rain coming down heavy by the end of the first half, India had no difficulty in taking charge of the game throughout. The relentless pressing paid dividend early in the game as Chhetri scored after forcing Pak goalkeeper into blunder on the 10th minute.
India kept the pressure on Pakistan in the closing minutes of the half and earned a corner as well but the heavy rain has dampened their quick movement with nothing coming out of the last set piece. The referee soon blows the half time whistle! What a half! It had every ingredient of entertainment!
The fans in the stand behind the Indian bench are chanting Stimac's name in support as the referee adds three minutes of stoppage time.

It's a brawl at the touchline! Coach Igor Stimac gets into a heated argument with Rahis Nabi after the Indian coach stopped Abdullah Iqbal from quickly taking a throw near the Indian bench. The argument soon involved the entire squad of both players with one Pak coaching staff headbutt an Indian counterpart as well!
Chhangte slots the ball into the net following a counter! but no celebrations as the lines official declared it offside

It's pouring down heavily with the entire media tribune empty now with no covers but rain seldom bothers a football match
Pakistan are finally seeing some possession but are lacking the quality passes and crosses to threaten Indian defence as it pours heavily at the Kanteerava!
Right-back Pritam Kotal combines with Chhangte on the right flank again to set up Thapa inside the box but the midfielder couldn't reach the ball in time as Pak defender cleared it.
YELLOW CARF FOR PAKISTAN! Right back Umar Hayat takes down Ashique Kuruniyan right outside the box on the left flank as the winger was approaching the box on the counter. The resulting free-kick by Sunil Chhetri was off target!
Jeakson Singh sides net following a short corner as the defensive midfielder went past two Pak defenders before firing the shot. The jam-packed Kanteerava is enjoying every moment of this!
Chhangte takes a marvellous turn inside the box and hits it with his left foot but the effort went direct to the keeper! The winger has been a handful for the Pak defence as Pritam Kotal sets him up for this chance.
India have settled down well with drizzles coming down stronger now. Pakistan feel the pressure as crowd backs the home team. Pritam Kotal meanwhile feeds Chhangte on right wing with a through ball on the counter but Pak right-back Abdullah Iqbal didn't allow Chhangte the space to get the ball as it went out for a goal kick
Coach Igor Stimac-led India side reached the venue a day after convincingly winning the Intercontinental Cup in Odisha's capital Bhubaneswar. The Blue Tigers are on a tremendous run of clean sheets in eight games. The side hasn't been as prudent as they wish to be in front of the line-up with just five goals in their last four games.
Sunil Chhetri and Rahim Ali are the two forwards for the tournament as India arrived for the SAFF Championships with three players less than their 26-man squad in Bhubaneswar. Ishan Pandita is a prominent absence as the striker couldn't play any role in the Intercontinental Cup due to a hamstring injury and has left the side as well.
Coach Stimac confirmed before coming to Bangalore that he won't name any replacements for the ruled out players as those who are outside the Indian teams haven't practiced in weeks after the season ended last month.
With the inclusion of guest teams, Kuwait and pakistan, the SAFF Championship is set to feature eight teams for the first time since 2013. Blue Tigers head coach Igor Stimac extended his warm welcome to both West Asian guests at the pre-tournament press conference.
"I hope Kuwait and pakistan feel welcome in every sense here in this beautiful city of Bengaluru. This SAFF Championship is going to be very competitive. Our group is special (Pakistan, Nepal and Kuwait), and every game will be different. The crowd will enjoy good football, and let's hope for plenty of goals," said Stimac.
India bagged a convincing 2-0 win over pakistan in the saff championship Final on Sunday evening. Stimac stated that although his side are content with how they've done, there's no time to dwell on that result or even overvalue the success in Bhubaneswar.
"The mood in the camp is brilliant, obviously, after winning the saff championship. We enjoyed each and every second in Odisha and are happy with our performance. But the second step, which is the difficult one, is to repeat it from game to game. Let's not be misled by the great performance against pakistan, as every day is a new challenge. Keeping consistency is very important for us," said the Croatian.
