HT Analysis: India at fault for not going sensible with their two attack-minded fullbacks as both Poojari and Mishra went up from the word go, allowing the likes of Fayzullaev, Masharipov the space left to exploit and they made the Blue Tigers pay heavily with two quick goals.
India did so purpose after going two-goal down but were not as clinical as their rivals in the attacking third as opportunities went begging with a high-risk game of attacking all out!
It came back to hurt them again when both fullbacks were caught out of position for the third goal by Narsullaev as well!

Half Time Statistics
The referee blows the half time whistle right after as Indians head into the break with their heads down. It's India 0-3 Uzbekistan at the break!
45+3' GOAL! Nasrullaev scores on the rebound after hitting the far post! Indian defense switches off again while a cross came from an overlapping run by Sayfiev! IND 0-3 UZB
45+1' Sunil Chhetri heads off target as Apuia delivers to the Indian captain running late into the box at the far post! The ball sailed over the crossbar as the contact wasn't proper by the skipper
India, however, are still at the bottom of the table as Uzbekistan and Syria played a goal-less draw right after India's defeat. What may worry the Indians more that this squad has lost its last two games across all competitions by a total score of 5-0, and this is their third straight Asian Cup without a goal in the score.
In the event that the Socceroos lose on Thursday and Syria wins or draws, they would be formally eliminated from this competition for the second time in a row. Manager Igor Stimac has stated that getting to the World Cup is the team's main goal, therefore an early exit might not bother him too much. His team is currently in second place in its 2026 qualifying group, only behind Kuwait on goal differential.
Matchday one proved to be a lost chance for Uzbekistan, as the White Wolves lost their opening game in this competition for the first time since 2007 (a 2-1 loss to Iran). After scoring goals in 15 straight group games prior, it was only the second time in the twenty-first century that this side has not found the back of the net during the tournament.
Despite being upset by their first-round outcome, Srecko Katanec's team went on to win their next two games, extending their unbeaten streak to eight games across all competitions. Uzbekistan hasn't been held scoreless in back-to-back international matches since 2021, when they lost 1-0 to Georgia after losing 3-0 to Jordan.
