At the recent ISL Media Day, Khalid Jamil, head coach of Jamshedpur FC, highlighted his team's goal to break into the top six this season. As one of only two Indian head coaches in the ISL - alongside Thangboi Singto of Hyderabad FC, Jamil shared his perspective on recent rule changes within the league.
Regarding the new rule requiring Indian interim coaches to take over if an international coach is dismissed, Jamil acknowledged the necessity of adapting to such rules. He believes this shift is beneficial for Indian coaches, providing them with crucial opportunities for growth and contributing to the advancement of Indian football.

"I haven't thought about it. We have to follow the rules. Indian coaches must get a chance. If they get a chance, they will improve and along with this Indian football will grow as well. Everybody must give their 100 per cent and fight for the team," Jamil said at the media meet in Kolkata on Wednesday (September 4).
On the topic of the concussion substitute rule, Jamil emphasized the importance of player safety. While expressing hope that injuries are avoided, he noted that having an additional substitute for concussion situations is a positive development, ensuring better management of unforeseen events during matches.
JFC captain Rei Tachikawa was also present at the event, and emphasized the love and passion from their supporters. The Furnace, which is the home ground of Jamshedpur FC, gets fully packed in every home match, and the Japanese player expects the spectators to turn up like in previous seasons.
"First of all the fans of Jamshedpur and entire Jharkhand, their love and passion for us and the game made me stay. Secondly, coach had shown a lot of faith in me and given me an opportunity to represent our fans. I am excited and positive about this season. I hope they will come in numbers and support us," Tachikawa said.
