Indian football Team Releases New Kit for Sunil Chhetri Last Match vs Kuwait

The Indian football team has released a new kit ahead of their penultimate game in the World Cup qualifiers second round stage. All India Football Federation (AIFF) and Indian football team's official kit sponsor, Performax Activewear came together to bring the fans this stylish new jersey ahead of their crucial match.

The release of the new jersey was announced on social media platforms with the tagline - 'Hear us roar’ on the pictures. The new kit is expected to boost the team's morale and provide a fresh look for the fans as they cheer on their team in the upcoming matches.

Indian football Team New Kit

The men's senior team will be seen donning the new kit during their upcoming match against Kuwait on June 6 at the Salt Lake Stadium in Kolkata. This is a pivotal game which India will absolutely need to win to secure their place in the next round of the World Cup qualifiers.

They are sitting in second place in their group table with the same points as third-placed Afghanistan. However, considering India's last match will be against Qatar on the road, they will need to secure an absolute win against Kuwait. Hence, the release of this new kit comes at a significant time for the Blue Tigers.

However, that's not the only reason as they will also be bidding adieu to their captain Sunil Chhetri, who has been the backbone of the team for almost two decades. As a result, the new kit also symbolises the start of a new era for Indian football, marking a transition from the legacy of Chhetri to a new generation of players.

Before the men's senior team, the Indian Senior Women’s National Team is expected to debut the new kit in their upcoming international friendly against Uzbekistan scheduled for June 1, 2024. Hence, this new kit will also act as a testament to the growing importance of women's football in India, with the team looking to make a strong impression in their upcoming matches.
