Subrata Pal to attend training stint at RB Leipzig

Bangalore, Jul 18: Indian football goalkeeper Subrata Pal is set to attend a training stint at RB Leipzig, a German club which plays in the 4th Division at Regionlliga Nord. Pal, who moved from Pune FC to Prayag United FC in Kolkata for a deal in excess of Rs 1 crore, would attend the first day's training on Friday before leaving for Germany this weekend. Sources said he would seek a special permission from the All India Football Federation to join preparations for Nehru Cup.

Subrata Pal will be among a trail of footballers from India heading to various countries in Europe to get training. Under-22 goalkeeper Gurpreet Singh Sandhu would go to Wigan in England for a short training while three players from Lajong FC would train with a first division club in Denmark. Indian football skipper Sunil Chhetri also got a chance recently to play for Portuguese club.

Pal, 25, first appeared for the Indian senior football side in 2007 when he replaced Sandip Nandy.
