Indian table soccer back from World Championship Series

Chandigarh, May 6 (UNI) A four-member Table Soccer Federation of India (TSFI) squad returned home after gaining rich experience in four-day World Championship Series (WCS) held in Paris from May 1.

More than 600 players from 20 countries including US, England, Canada, France, Belgium, Austria and Algeria participated in WCS, TSFI chairman Ravinder Talwar, who accompanied the team, said adding that the Indian players had competed well with top players of the world.

In the junior singles, Anitpal Singh finished joint ninth.

Gurwinder Singh and Hardial Singh secured joint 17th spot in junior singles competition.

The Indian pairs of Anitpal Singh and Pawandeep Singh and Gurwinder Singh annd Hardial Singh, secured joint fifth positions.

Talwar said that four more World Championship Series would be conducted this year. These include Tecball WCS to be held in Aschaffenburg, Germany (July 17-20), Garlando WCS to be held in Tulln, Austria (July 23-27), Roberto Sport WCS at Giubiasco, Switzerland)(September 12-14) and Tornado WCS to take place in Las Vegas, USA (September 24-28).
