Inter coach Simone Inzaghi expressed no need to criticise his team following their 2-2 draw with Bologna on Wednesday. The match ended Inter's six-game winning streak in Serie A. Emil Holm scored for Bologna midway through the first half, securing a point for the visitors at San Siro. Inter initially fell behind after 15 minutes but quickly equalised through Denzel Dumfries, with Lautaro Martinez giving them the lead before halftime.
Despite a lacklustre second-half performance, Inter managed to secure a point, leaving them three points behind league leaders Napoli. Inzaghi stated, "We are not happy at all, but I have nothing to reproach the lads for." He praised his team's effort against a strong opponent and acknowledged Bologna's well-organised play. Inzaghi noted that despite some numerical challenges, his players performed admirably.

Bologna had previously defeated Inter in two of their last four encounters, which made Matteo Darmian focus on the positives. "When we go on the pitch we want to take the victory, especially at home," said Darmian. He highlighted their good reaction and taking the lead before conceding an equaliser. Darmian viewed earning 44 points in the first 19 games as a significant achievement.
Darmian reflected on their season so far, stating they had an important first half despite not starting well. He emphasised that comparisons with last year are unnecessary and stressed continuing their current form. "We have to continue what we've been doing," he added. Darmian believes they are in a strong position and must maintain their momentum.
Inzaghi also mentioned that while there were opportunities to improve, such as avoiding deflected goals, he saw an excellent team effort against a physically challenging opponent. His comments suggest confidence in his squad's ability to bounce back and remain competitive in the league.
The draw against Bologna serves as a reminder of Serie A's competitive nature but also highlights Inter's resilience and potential for success this season.
