ISL 2026: Inter Kashi Edge Past Chennaiyin FC 2-1 As Alfred Moya Nets A Brace In Second Half

ISL 2026: Alfred Moya scored twice in the second half, as Inter Kashi FC beat Chennaiyin FC 2-1 in the Indian Super League 2025-26 at the Jawaharlal Nehru Stadium, Chennai, on Tuesday, April 7, 2026. Daniel Chima Chukwu netted a late goal for Chennaiyin.

The result gave Inter Kashi their second win of the season. They moved to eighth place with eight points from seven matches. Chennaiyin FC stayed 11th with five points from six games. Moya’s brace also earned him the Player of the Match award.

Team changes and tactical setup

Chennaiyin FC Head Coach Clifford Miranda made four changes to his starting XI. Iñigo Martín, D. Vignesh, Irfan Yadwad and Mohammed Ali Bemammer came in. They replaced Elsinho, Mandar Rao Desai, Maheson Singh and forward Daniel Chima Chukwu.

Inter Kashi Head Coach Antonio López Habas also made four changes to his line-up. Goalkeeper Shubham Dhas started ahead of Lluis Tarrés Campos. Narender Gahlot replaced Sumeet Passi. Ashish Jha came in for Nauris Petkevičius, while Mohammed Asif started instead of Tomba Singh.

Chennaiyin controls the first-half possession.

Both sides began cautiously, testing each other’s plans in early exchanges. Chennaiyin saw more of the ball. Bemammer and Alberto Noguera guided play from midfield. Inter Kashi stayed compact near their box, blocking space and forcing Chennaiyin into long shots that did not trouble Shubham.

For Inter Kashi, Rohit Danu was lively on the left flank. He sent dangerous crosses into the area, but the Chennaiyin defence dealt with them. Just before the drinks break, Moya tried a long-range shot. His curling effort went wide of the post.

The visitors nearly scored in the first-half added time from a corner. Wayne Vaz met the delivery, but his first effort was blocked. His follow-up was saved by goalkeeper Mohammad Nawaz. The rebound fell to Danu, whose chip was cleared off the line by Laldinliana.

Moya strikes twice after the restart

Inter Kashi took the lead immediately after the restart. Danu crossed from the left. Sergio Llamas controlled the ball on his chest. Bemammer failed to clear, and the loose ball reached Moya, who calmly placed his finish past Nawaz for the opener.

The visitors doubled their advantage eight minutes later. Moya drove into the box with Noguera tracking back. A miscommunication in the Chennaiyin defence left him unchallenged. The forward poked the ball past Nawaz, making it 2-0 and sealing his second goal of the night.

Chennaiyin rally but fall short.

Miranda introduced fresh players to lift Chennaiyin’s attack. The home side pushed forward while chasing the two-goal gap. created half-chances but lacked a clear final pass. Faroukh Chaudhary came closest, with a left-footed strike after a strong run, saved by Shubham.

Chennaiyin’s pressure finally brought a goal deep into stoppage time. Yadwad diverted a Noguera cross into a dangerous zone. Narender and Nishchal Chandan both challenged, and the clearance looped up. Chima Chukwu smashed the ball past Shubham, but the goal arrived too late for the Marina Machans.
