Lionel Messi's Inter Miami will be up against Mexican club CF Monterrey in the Concacaf Champions Cup Quarter Finals 1st leg on Wednesday (April 3).
The two teams lock horns in the 1st leg of the quarter-final of the Concacaf Champions Cup and will be eyeing a place in the semi-finals. After getting a bye in the 1st leg, Inter Miami won 5-3 on aggregate against Nashville SC in the Round of 16. Monterrey beat Guatemalan club Comunicaciones 7-1 in the first round and then beat Cincinnati 3-1 in the Round of 16 to qualify for the quarter-finals.

It is going to be a massive match for Inter Miami as they look to qualify for the semifinals. As the MLS side takes on the Mexican giants, questions arise about the availability of Lionel Messi.
The Argentine's last match for Miami came on March 13 against Nashville, where he scored a goal and had an assist in a 3-1 victory in the Concacaf Champions Cup Round of 16. But Messi hasn't featured for Inter since then as the veteran is carrying a hamstring injury. He has missed the last three matches for the Herons and is expected to return against Monterrey.
It is yet to be confirmed whether the 36-year-old is fully fit to start for Inter, but he may start from the bench in this match.
Messi has scored 5 goals in just five appearances for Inter Miami this season and looks destined to have another fantastic outing with them. The former Barcelona star will be hoping to showcase his authority against the Mexican club and give his team the key advantage ahead of the 2nd leg in Mexico.
