New Delhi, Aug 12: Inter Milan manager Luciano Spalletti has confirmed midfielder Geoffrey Kondogbia wants to leave the club after the 24-year-old skipped training in the midst of rumours of him having an agreement with Valencia.
Spalletti vented his anger on Friday in the Press conference and hinted that Kondogbia's inability to turn up at the training drew the 24-year-old to be cut out from Inter's squad for Saturday's friendly against Real Betis.
The former Roma manager also told correspondents that he had been uninformed of the French midfielder's desire to change the club and the defensive midfielder approached the transfer in a wrong way.
Kondogbia has been actively linked with a move to Valencia and Spalletti suggested he has officially gotten an offer, however, demands no understanding has been struck between the clubs. The Italian manager also confirmed that another one of his players, Jeison Murillo is also ready to leave the club.
"He wants to leave and we aware of it. Somebody tried to convince him to leave, but he did it the wrong way, I am surprised. He can't behave this way, we spend some money (€ 40 million) to sign him."
"He could have told us that there is a club that wants to sign him. We would have discussed that. We don't want to block anybody's move. Murillo wants to leave as well and we've talked to him. The club has now reached an agreement to sell him, that's how you do things. Kondogbia is a strong footballer and I need him for this season. We want to know what happens, for sure he'll have to explain why he did that."
Kondogbia made his move to the Milan side in 2015 for € 40 million prices, however, failed to live up to the hype in his two-year spell at the San Siro. He has made 76 appearances for the club in the meantime and has scored only three goals.
