Inter Milan Secure 21st Serie A Title With Parma Win As Thuram And Mkhitaryan Seal Triumph
Inter secured the Serie A title with three matches left after a controlled 2-0 win over Parma at San Siro. The Nerazzurri needed only a draw, following second-place Napoli’s slip against Como, but secured all three points to confirm the club’s 21st Scudetto in front of home supporters.
This latest success continues Inter’s habit of finishing campaigns early. Inter’s 21st Scudetto is the sixth time the club has wrapped up the Serie A crown with at least three fixtures remaining. The result also ensured the team could celebrate on the pitch immediately, with the trophy race officially over before the final run-in.

Inter extended a strong sequence against Parma that has stretched across several seasons. The Nerazzurri are now unbeaten in nine consecutive Serie A meetings with Parma, recording six victories and three draws. At San Siro, their current league form is also strong, with only two defeats from the last 29 Serie A home matches.
The first half followed a clear pattern, with Inter pressing for the breakthrough while Parma tried to contain. Denzel Dumfries almost opened the scoring after 10 minutes with a close-range header that drifted just wide. Nicolo Barella then struck the crossbar on 25 minutes, as Parma’s defence survived repeated pressure.
The opening goal arrived in first-half stoppage time, easing any tension inside San Siro. Piotr Zielinski slid a pass into Marcus Thuram’s path, and the forward drove his finish past Parma goalkeeper Zion Suzuki. That strike meant Inter reached the interval ahead and already closing in on the decisive victory.
Parma stayed in the contest after the restart, and Inter missed chances to extend the lead. Dumfries fired over from a promising position with 19 minutes left, after meeting an accurate cross from Federico Dimarco. Nesta Elphege later had a goal ruled out for the visitors, raising brief nerves among the home fans.
The decisive second goal came 10 minutes from the end, finally settling the contest. Substitute Lautaro Martinez sprinted down the right flank and squared across the area for Henrikh Mkhitaryan. The midfielder finished from close range, confirming the win and triggering celebrations, even after Davide Frattesi saw a late effort saved from short distance.
Thuram’s influence has grown during the closing weeks of the season, and this match continued that trend. The forward now has eight direct goal contributions in Serie A since the start of April, with six goals and two assists. No player in Europe’s top five domestic leagues has produced more in that period.
The goal against Parma took Thuram to 13 Serie A goals for the campaign. Thuram is the fifth player in Europe’s big five leagues to score at least 13 league goals with the same club in each of the last three seasons. The group includes Robert Lewandowski, Ante Budimir, Erling Haaland and Harry Kane.

Inter’s victory over Parma delivered the title, extended positive head-to-head records and highlighted the impact of several key players. With three Serie A matches still to play, Inter can manage minutes, protect fitness and reflect on a campaign where consistent league form at San Siro and away from home secured the 21st Scudetto.
