Simone Inzaghi remains focused as Inter Milan faces Monaco in their final group stage match on Wednesday. A draw would secure Inter's direct qualification to the Champions League last 16. Monaco, currently tenth, trails fourth-placed Inter by three points. They need a win to potentially finish in the top eight and avoid the play-off round for teams ranked ninth to 24th.
Inzaghi emphasised that reaching the top eight is not guaranteed, noting that even teams with larger budgets than Inter might miss out. "Every competition hides pitfalls," he told reporters on Tuesday. "We can't make calculations. We know we're one last step away from a great run and we'd like to do it tomorrow night."

Inter has won five of their seven Champions League matches so far, with four being narrow 1-0 victories, including a win against Arsenal in November. Inzaghi anticipates another challenging encounter with Monaco, acknowledging their strong offensive capabilities and organisation.
"Monaco have excellent offensive players; they play offensive football. They are well-organised. We have great respect for Monaco, but we want to play a great game," he added.
Injuries will sideline Francesco Acerbi, Hakan Calhanoglu, and Joaquin Correa for this crucial match. Additionally, Mehdi Taremi is uncertain due to fitness concerns. "In these two days, [Taremi] has trained in the gym and we hope to recover him for tomorrow's match," Inzaghi mentioned.
French defender Benjamin Pavard expressed confidence ahead of the game. "We are working well with the coach and his staff. I am also very comfortable and tomorrow we will try to qualify against a very strong team," he stated. "We have prepared well and we'll do everything to win."
A loss could see Inter drop out of the top eight as nine other teams are within three points of them in Serie A standings. The stakes are high as they aim to secure their place among Europe's elite clubs.
